About Perplexity AI

Perplexity AI is a U.S.-based artificial intelligence company that provides an AI-powered search and answer engine combining large language models with real-time web search. Founded in 2022 and headquartered in San Francisco, the platform delivers conversational, natural-language answers backed by cited sources, enabling users to research, analyze, and generate content more efficiently. Perplexity’s products (including its free search tool and paid Pro offering) support use cases such as research, summarization, content creation, and data analysis, while allowing users to ask follow-up questions and interact with information dynamically. Positioned as an “answer engine,” Perplexity aims to redefine traditional search by replacing link-based results with synthesized, source-backed insights, making it a strong alternative to conventional search engines and AI chatbots.
