About Tor

The Tor Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and maintaining privacy and anonymity tools for the internet, with its flagship product being the Tor Browser. The Tor Browser allows users to browse the web anonymously and securely by routing their internet traffic through a network of volunteer-operated servers, also known as the Tor network. This process conceals users’ locations and usage from surveillance and traffic analysis. The organization promotes freedom of expression and privacy online, supporting individuals, journalists, and human rights organizations worldwide.
