Wowza Streaming vs. Riverside

Wowza Streaming Engine is a self-managed video streaming server that ingests, transcodes, and delivers live and on-demand video across any protocol, codec, and deployment environment. It gives engineering teams full control over their streaming infrastructure, whether running on-premises, in private or public cloud, hybrid, edge, or air-gapped environments. Wowza Streaming Engine powers video workflows for Fortune 500 enterprises, government agencies, broadcasters, surveillance operators, and platform builders across more than 170 countries.

Riverside (formerly Riverside.fm) is the all-in-one platform for recording, live streaming, editing, repurposing, and publishing studio-quality videos and podcasts. Creators and businesses use it to produce broadcast-quality content without the production maze of multiple tools, expensive studios, or technical expertise. Record up to 4K video and uncompressed audio locally on every participant’s device, so quality holds up even on bad internet. Edit by editing the transcript. Turn long recordings into clips, captions, show notes, and translations with AI. Webinars scale to 10,000 attendees.
