AlmaLinux OS

AlmaLinux OS is an enterprise Linux operating system used across the globe by enterprises, supercomputers, and hobbyists alike, but it’s guided and built by the community. We were the first downstream RHEL clone to be released after the announcement by Red Hat that support for CentOS Linux was ending, and we shifted to maintaining RHEL compatibility in the wake of Red Hat’s announcement in June that they would no longer be releasing their SRPMs. Our goal is to provide a stable, long-term option for folks who have historically used CentOS Linux, and for whom CentOS Stream is not an option.

Pros

  • RHEL Compatibility
  • Regular Updates
  • Compatibility
  • Easy Setup
  • Reliability
  • Free/No Cost

openSUSE Leap

The openSUSE Project is a worldwide effort that promotes the use of free and open source software wherever possible, and well known for its GNU/Linux based operating systems. openSUSE Leap is the keystone community distribution that offers unmatched choice by being binary-compatible with the commercially-available SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE). openSUSE Leap combines SLE quality with the amazing ecosystem of openSUSE, which offers thousands of additional community-maintained software packages.
