AlmaLinux OS

AlmaLinux OS is an enterprise Linux operating system used across the globe by enterprises, supercomputers, and hobbyists alike, but it’s guided and built by the community. We were the first downstream RHEL clone to be released after the announcement by Red Hat that support for CentOS Linux was ending, and we shifted to maintaining RHEL compatibility in the wake of Red Hat’s announcement in June that they would no longer be releasing their SRPMs. Our goal is to provide a stable, long-term option for folks who have historically used CentOS Linux, and for whom CentOS Stream is not an option.

Pros

  • RHEL Compatibility
  • Regular Updates
  • Compatibility
  • Easy Setup
  • Reliability
  • Free/No Cost

Black Lab

Black Lab Linux is based on Ubuntu Linux tailored both for general desktop use and for the more technical user. It is commercially made available by PC/OpenSystems LLC for business desktops, education facilities, as well as parallel computing.

Pros

  • User-Friendly
  • Regular Updates
  • Community Support
